Instant PAN card is a time saving, paperless and  free of cost process to obtain PAN number. Time period for Applying and  getting PAN number is now reduced to 5 minutes.

Permanent Account Number (PAN) is the number alloted to Taxpayers in India. This is one of the valid documents for KYC in financial transactions. This number is also mandatory for filling of Income Tax Return Forms and also cash transaction above Rs50000/-. 

As per recent declaration by Finance Minister of India in her budget speech the the concept of instant PAN came in light. Previously getting PAN number in five minutes was a day dreaming, about fifteen  day time was required and Rs150/- was payable towards PAN application free. 

Now it's instant, paperless and free of cost. All this process is AADHAR based and OTP verified.

Now we will see what's are the requirements to get the instant PAN number.

REQUIREMENT FOR INSTANT PAN

(1)- Valid AADHAR number.

(2)- Correct DOB is available in AADHAR number 

(3)- The mobile number linked with your AADHAR is in operation and handy.

If u have all the above then u can apply for instance PAN through Income Tax website. Allotment of  PAN also requires some other eligibility as its only restricted to Indian Resident. 

(a) Indian Citizen

(b) Major (18+)

(c)  Valid AADHAR number

If someone have a valid existing PAN cards then he is not eligible a to apply for this instant PAN because as per section 272B(1) of Income Tax Act 1961, having more than one valid PAN is an offence. 

Also worth to inform you that recently Govt have extended the date of linking of PAN with AADHAR due to covid -19 pandemic situation in India. If PAN will not linked to AADHAR then it will invalid for all future purpose. 

STEPS TO GET INSTANT PAN ONLINE:

STEP-1 Go the the Income Tax Department website.(url: https://www.incometaxindiaefiling.gov.in/ )

 In left side corner option for Instant PAN through AADHAR is available. On clicking that link it will open in a new tab.

STEP -2 Then click on GET NEW PAN bottom in the screen, it will open in a new tab in which we have to fill the all the relevant information ie AADHAR number  and then enter the captcha. Then click on generate AADHAR OTP. You will get your AADHAR OTP in and submit. 

STEP-3 Then fill personal information like Name, Gender , Date of Birth , Address, PIN number, Email Address, Mobile number and then submit by clicking on SUBMIT PAN request.

STEP - 4: We can also verify our email ID but this is optional. Now your request is successfully submit and PAN number will generated accordingly.

STEP- 5 : Go back to the previous page and click on Check Status /Downloaded PAN button then fill the data and request for OTP. then submit the OTP and validate the same. Now  your online  PAN is available for download.
